Mocana Corporation announces Embedded SecuritySuite for Secure Networked DevicesComplete Enterprise-Class Security Solution Delivers Ease-of-Use, Flexibility, Performance and Low Memory Footprints MENLO PARK, CA – June 14, 2004 – Mocana Corporation, a developer of intelligent security solutions for distributed systems, today announced its Embedded Security Suite for securing communications to, from and between networked devices. Based on innovative technology, the Suite consists of Mocana SSH Server, Mocana SSL/TLS Server, and Mocana SSL/TLS Client. Mocana's security software is used today in the mission-critical environments of major enterprise customers, including Nortel Networks. Mocana also partners with technology vendors such as MontaVista Software. Free evaluation software downloads are available at http://www.mocana.com/evaluate.html. “We've developed a complete security solution that enterprise developers can simply drop into embedded devices to secure communications,” said Adrian Turner, Mocana President and CEO. “By using Mocana, our OEM customers have accelerated time-to-market for connected devices that require enterprise-class security standards.” As corporate boundaries blur and an increasing number of nodes (sensors, devices, servers and applications) connect to networks, new security vulnerabilities can expose these networks to isolated breaches and cascading failures. Securing these nodes is mission-critical and existing software platforms present costly, time-intensive challenges. Mocana's Embedded Security Suite addresses these challenges, resulting in faster time-to-market and high security performance at runtime, with fewer opportunities for developers not trained in security to introduce vulnerabilities. “Mocana's software eliminates the need to build custom security solutions for our burgeoning network services and devices businesses,” said John Mead, SW Engineering Director, Intelligent Edge, at Nortel Networks. “We've been down the open source and custom code route many times, and Mocana simply provides an easier, higher performance option. With Mocana, we cut development time, and continue to extend the security innovation that our customers have come to expect.” Embedded Security Suite Mocana's Embedded Security Suite is sold as individual software components or as a bundle designed to secure communications to, from and between any embedded networked nodes over any wireless or physical network. The lightweight, small footprint software components include:
Key Suite benefits include:
“Our customers must secure their connected devices,” said Glenn Seiler, director, product marketing, MontaVista Software. “Mocana software provides a very efficient and powerful security solution. It is flexible, well-documented, market proven and works well with MontaVista® Linux® directly out of the box. We are pleased to be partnering with Mocana.” Mocana Embedded Security Suite includes support for a broad range of encryption protocols, including TLS1.0, SSLv3, SSHv2, SFTP, DH, RSA-2048, DSS, AES, Triple-DES, Blowfish, SHA-1, and MD5. The Suite is platform and architecture independent, with built-in support for VxWorks, Linux, Solaris and Windows, and well-documented and easy-to-use APIs. Mocana software integrates easily into existing network devices and systems using open standards. Availability Mocana Embedded Security Suite is generally available.
