- Mocana, a provider of complete
open standards-based security solutions that secure next generation
networks and services all the way to edge devices, today announced
that Roel Pieper has been named to the Mocana Advisory Board. As
a member of the Advisory Board, Mr. Pieper will provide additional
strategic counsel for both the business and technology aspects of
Mocana.

Mr. Pieper currently serves as Managing Director and Chairman
of Favonius Ventures, a leading European investment fund
focusing on technology companies, a firm he originally founded
in 1999 as Insight Capital Partners Europe. Prior to founding
his investment firm he served as executive vice president
of Philips Electronics N.V., where he also served as a Member
of the Board of Directors from 1998 to 1999. In 1995 Mr.
Pieper was named President and CEO of Tandem Computers,
which was acquired two years later by Compaq. Mr. Pieper
is known as a technology visionary for his insight and expertise
into the high-performance computing and next generation
networks. He brings over 25 years of management and technology
experience to Monaca's Advisory Board with companies in
the U.S. and in Europe.

Mr. Pieper received his doctoral in computer science and
mathematics from the University of Delft, Netherlands, where
he graduated summa cum laude. Mr. Pieper has served as a
member of the Board of Directors for several companies including
Veritas, Computer Associates, and Scientific Atlanta, as
well as numerous non-profit organizations.
