Malware In Battery-Saving Android App

Tired of poor battery life on your Android phone, well a new app might not provide relief.

According to ZDNet, the new malware is not available on Google Play or even a rogue app store--instead, the download link is sent via a Japanese-language email. The result of installing the app is that the malicious coders get your contact information.

This resembles malware created in the late 1990s and early 2000s for desktop PCs. It's interesting to see the cycle of malware creation repeating itself on the mobile device.

As noted here before, only download Android apps from trusted markets.
