Google Confirms Android Jelly Bean To Scan For Malware

Google has confirmed that its Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) release will include malware protection for its many apps.

In a Computerworld blog, Android VP of Engineering Hiroshi Lockheimer said that security would be a checkbox within Google Play, allowing Google to scan the app before it's downloaded to your mobile device. "Assuming the user wants this additional insurance policy, we felt like we shouldn't exclude one source over another," he said.
