Howard Schmidt Urges More Public-Private Security Partnerships
Former cyber security advisor to President Obama and now Executive Director of SAFECode said that there needs to be more public-private security partnerships.
In an interview with Tripwire, Schmidt elaborated on President Obama's Executive Order, in particular the part about government agencies sharing more information with the private sector. He said a CIOs should begin a dialog with the Department of Homeland security.
Recently, Michael Daniel, special assistant to the president and cybersecurity coordinator, caled the executive order a "down payment", suggesting there might be further initiatives from the White House in the near future.
