"Facebook Home" Lands On HTC First

On Thursday, Facebook unveiled its partnership with HTC.

The new phone, called HTC First, is your basic Android phone with a Facebook interface known as Facebook Home. According to the Droid Guy "[t]he phone is a mid-range handset that targets average smartphone users and boasts of a normal-sized 4.3 inch screen with an impressive 1280 x 720p SLCD3 screen and running on a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. Memory-wise, the phone has 1 GB of RAM and either 8 or 16 GB of internal memory."

This represents the first mobile device specifically designed to work with social networks, in particular the Facebook social media site. The look and feel will be familiar to regular users of the social media site. HTC First will be available on AT&T for $99 starting April 12th.

Facebook Home will be also be available as a download for other devices. And Facebook revealed it will be launching other smartphones and tablets later this year.
