Obama Prioritizes Cybersecurity In New Budget
The president is calling for more cybersecurity funds in his 2014 budget proposal to Congress.
According to the Reuters news service, Obama is asking for more "military "hackers" to head off escalating cyber threats from China, Iran, Russia and other countries. It would also bolster defenses for government and private-sector computer networks."
The cybersecurity money would be used for both defensive and offensive uses.
Previously the Pentagon announced it would increase its Cyber Command teams, with a goal of having up to 4,900 individuals within the next few years.
