Cyber Fighters May Have Hit JPMorgan Chase

While General Keith Alexander testified before Congress this past week about increased risks of attacks on the financial services industry, attackers apparently shut down the JPMorganChase webiste over a period of two days.

According to the Register, a group of Islamic activists called the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters are targeting banks such as Chase, SunTrust, PNC Financial Services Group, US Bancorp, Citigroup, Wells Fargo and Bank of America in a second wave of attacks. A first wave last year targeted a similar group of financial institutions.
