Social Engineering Protection: Patching the Social Protocols

A couple of years ago our CTO, who is also named James, forwarded me an email with the comment "to the wrong James." Taking a quick look through the content and the type of the attachment I replied to let him know it was a spear phishing email. The level of content and degree of targeting were impressive. Following this attack we created a clearly articulated internal procedure when someone believed they had been compromised. We also made people at Mocana aware of the classes of attacks they could expect.
