The introduction of Virtual Private Networks for many came with Windows NT. Microsoft created the MS-CHAPv2 authentication protocol to facilitate easy VPN on Windows machines. Last weekend a researcher at DefCon released a tool that makes cracking the authentication as trivial as on day's hard work.
