More Vulnerable TVs in 2015?

According to the DisplaySearch Q2’11 Quarterly TV Design and Features Report one quarter of the TV sold today have Internet capability. That number is forecast to grow to nearly half of the 500 million flat screen digital TVs predicted to be sold in 2015. The study found the most steady growth among emerging markets in the Asian Pacific and within Eastern Europe.

This is a bit more conservative that an earlier report from ABI Research that predicted 50% of flat screens will have Internet connections by 2013. Nonetheless, the exponential growth is there. And so are the advances in features and possibilities that go with it.
